Enjoying the delightful English scene at Restaurants in Cumbria

Cumbria's nourishment scene has gone ahead a wide margin lately, and fine-feasting is no more limited to the up market national lodgings. Local produce offers vigorously on most menus, particularly dishes, for example, wavy Cumberland hotdog, tattie hotpot and Herdwick sheep. A visit to Cumbria might not be finished without attempting some magnificent local nourishment and drink. A group of extraordinary pubs, motels and fine eating restaurants guarantees there is something for all tastes and events.  It is additionally worth taking an excursion to Cumbria's breweries for some true locality ale and the county is dotted with authentic English Country Pubs.

A solid, famous English Country Pub in the heart of the Lake District, the Drunken Duck that gives amazing viewpoint, wholesome provisions for voyagers and locals. An on location distillery - Barngates Brewery guarantees crisply prepared brew is accessible. The dishes are ordinarily healthy in the bar – the lunchtime menu includes soup, sandwiches and the local ploughman's. The other famous items of the menu in the restaurant include confit of duck with shoot up and stew stick in front of barbecued halibut. Or asparagus and fresh smoked pancetta bruschetta with a poached egg and truffle oil hollandaise. Irish and British cheeses get their fair share in the menu, and it’s all capably backed by a wine rundown that is solid on ales.

How to Identify Good Food in Lake District

Everyone goes hungry and the minute they feel the grouse in their tummy, they become more like the ravenous creatures on the prowl. Though hunger makes animal instincts display effectively, we humans have a unique quality of having a taste for good food. That said, it is not everyone’s cup of tea to know the difference between good food and a regular burger in the Lake District restaurants.

Native knowledge

If you try looking for a taste that is authentic to the region it comes from, you need to first have a taste of the regional food in the region itself. Now, not everyone can go to India to have the real Indian food, for instance. Therefore, the best idea as per me is to try out food that is prepared by chef belonging to the same country. The taste may not be exactly same to the one available in its native region but you may expect it to be nearer to the original taste of the cuisine. There are some restaurants in Cumbria that adhere to regional food ethics so that you get the most authentic flavour of the cuisine you try.

Country Pub Restaurants - an Overview

The fact that this place has the largest tourism industry in UK is enough to give you a fair idea about the popularity of the place. One of the main reasons behind the same is the Lake district national park and the delectable local cuisine of this place.  There is rarely anyone in UK who isn’t aware of the famous Cumberland sausages of Cumbria. The local pubs, restaurants and producers have turned food and drinks of Cumbria into an art form.  There are a variety of pubs and restaurants in Cumbria like ‘the Highway man’ and if you happen to visit Cumbria try to hog on some local recipes of this place.  The traditional British cuisine of Cumbria cooked by local expert chefs with the freshest of the Ingredients, vegetables, meat and sea food from local farms and producers is a treat to your taste buds.

These restaurants and pubs not only provide yummy food but also cozy and comfortable traditional and contemporary ambience. Some of the restaurants and pubs have online or telephone ordering facility too. So, if you are busy and want to still have the local food, then you call either call them or visit their webpage and order online. The food would be delivered at your door steps in just a few minutes. Only point to be kept in mind is that while ordering food, try to order your food from a restaurant or Pub which is near to your place so you can get your order delivered soon and hot too.

What’s Common Between Highwayman Inn and Kids?

If you have ever been to the borders of Yorkshire and Cumbria on the outskirts of Lancashire, you might have got tempted to visit the ornate structure amidst the picturesque surroundings. The building, constructed decades ago, is the Highwayman Inn, one of the finest restaurants in town.

Also known as a pub, the Highwayman caters to just about everyone including kids. What I mean o convey here is the specially designed menu, crafted by Nigel Haworth and his head chef Michael Ward. The menu is a smaller version of the original menu meant for the grownups but with a taste that suits the kid’s taste buds and being easy on the tummy of little ones.

Regarding kids, eating healthy has been on the forefront of the pub cum restaurant. So you may also expect a lot of greens in the kids menu but with a taste that kids won’t lament over.

The restaurant, with its huge logo of a musketeer with his horse triumphing on its two legs pitched on the front of the entrance, definitely seems to win over the locals as well as tourists of the city and has already become one of the finest restaurants Lancashire has.

Valentine’s Day Blues? Here’s an Idea

It may be a month or a week or just a day that you’ve proposed to your girlfriend but nothing matters when it comes to Valentine’s Day, which is just a fortnight away. While the girls may be in their dreams about what she could expect on the day of love, guys, on the other hand, may be in a terrific dilemma over how to come to the ‘expectation’ of their loved one. But does that really matter?

Valentine’s Day is about expressing love and not about spending big. Even a rose and a hug could do wonders to both of you and that costs nothing (if the rose belongs to your garden, that is). But let’s just be decent and show some chivalry; go for a drive down the highway and stop for a scrumptious dinner.

I’d really suggest you the Highwayman Inn that is on the outskirts of Lancashire and just near the border of Cumbria and Yorkshire. The inn has a perfect menu that is inspired by celebrity chef Nigel Haworth and has everything from sausages as entrĂ©e to the romance of chocolate, puddings and cheese. Wish you a very romantic Valentine’s Day!
